Modem Upgrade
« on: January 03, 2005, 09:30:52 PM »
I am looking to replace the current modem that I have which is one of those HSP 56K modems which are notorious for absorbing memory. I have in mind a new modem that is affordable but won't drain too much of my resources, and it's a V.92 56K PCI modem. Would this modem be any better than the HSP modem? I think that most HSP modems are PCIs anyway. Also, why are ISA modems considered to be better internal modems than PCI modems ? Are ISA modems considered to be more expensive because they are just better, or because they fit better on older computer systems? Sometimes, the older part the more expensive it can be. If anyone can assist me with these questions, I would be most appreciative for your help. Thank You.
