Hi Catrina, you have a few Nasties on your computer, let's see what we can clean up
We should be able to get you running a lot smoother

But first
Access your Add/Remove Programs and Remove if found
180solutions
180 Search assistant
Internet optimizer
NCase

Ensure you restart your computer in between removal of any or All of them

Back in Windows
We need a few tools

Download and save to Desktop the Standalone version of CWShredder.exe
Don't run a Scan yet

Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Ensure you have this version or the paid version
Hold onto this, it's yours for free
Ad-Aware should update when you install it, and may start scanning, Don't run a scan yet>>Close out of Ad-Aware
But just to be sure
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the  check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
If right up to date, close it out

Again, don't run a scan yet

Download and Install this utility to clean all your Temp folders, cookies, prefetch,etc....
Again, another tool you should hang onto, best yet, it's yours for free
Windows CleanUp! by StevenGould
Install it for now, we'll let it clean the files later, don't run a scan yet

Download the trial version of tds-3 anti trojan from here:
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/tds/downloads/...s/tds3setup.exe
This is good for 30 days
Install it and Restart your computer when prompted
Don't run a scan yet

When your back in Windows it's important to update the latest RADIUS database
IMPORTANT>>>Right click the link below, select "save target as" or save link as
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/tds/radius.td3
Save it to the directory where you installed TDS-3
The default location should be
C:\Program Files\TDS3
Allow it to overwrite the previous radius.td3
Again, don't run a scan yet

Now that you have the tools, let's get on with the fixes
Please Print the rest of this out or save this to a Notepad file on your desktop
I need you to Disconnect from the Internet
and RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can Restart into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key on the keyboard as the system is booting up or use the link I supplied for other methods

In Safe mode

Open up Just CWShredder>>Click on ONLY the FIX button
Let it Fix all problems
When it's done, which won't take long

Restart your computer>>>Please restart back to SAFE MODE

Back in Windows

Open Ad-Aware
Perform a Full system scan--"Uncheck Search for Negligible Risk Entries" before scanning
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer again back to SAFE MODE to finish the cleaning process

Launch TDS-3. In the top bar of tds window click system testing> full systemscan.
Let it completely finish scanning---Even if it appears to freeze at times
Detections will appear in the lower pane of tds window after the scan is finished ( it'll take a while ) Right click the list> select save as txt.>> save this to a convienent location, I'll need to see it later

After saving the scandump go ahead and right click the list of alarms again, this time select delete...only delete those with POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION

RESTART your computer again back to SAFE MODE

Open Windows CleanUp>>Should be accessed by clicking START>>All Programs
In CleanUp, click the Cleanup button
Let it finish scanning for files>>This won't take too long, depending on how often temp folders are emptied
When it's done scanning it will prompt you to Log off >> Don't
Instead Restart your computer back to Normal Mode

Post back a Fresh hijackthis log afterwards
Could you also post the Scandump.txt, thanks

Seems like a bit of work, but this will help clean or  identify most, or all of the Malware on your computer

Sorry Catilina, I didn't see your reply sooner

I definitely want you to try what I suggested from my first reply

Do what you can from my first reply before posting back

180 search assistant can be very annoying http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
It has a tendency of hijacking your Winsock settings
If removed wrong it can knock you offline, but not too worry
In addition, can you download this tool and save it to desktop
Winsock XP Fix from this link
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

Just leave it on the desktop, don't run the FIX part of this unless you absolutely have to >>This is just to ensure you have it in case we need it

As mentioned, look over what I asked you to download earlier and also Winsock fix<<Don't run this unless needed

Go ahead with the first post after you have Winsock fix also downloaded

Post back a fresh hijackthis log after you have done all/ or whatever you could accomplish

Restart into safe mode and carry on with the rest of the fixes after you have all the tools downloaded

Good Work Catalina

Just hold onto Winsock XP fix for now, I don't think you will need it
You still have Internet connection http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Let's try some more cleanup and see if we can get you finished
Print this out or save to a Notepad file

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Restart your computer into SAFE MODE

Open Hijackthis>>Open the Misc tools Sections>>Open Process Manager
Kill these processes if still running
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SVCHOSTA.EXE <--don't confuse it with svchost.exe, which is legitimate

Find and delete these files or folders if they exist
Some TDS-3 probably took care of, but take a look anyways

C:\WINDOWS\imgvrkvr.exe <--this file
C:\WINNT\jmxid.exe <--file
c:\windows\bar.exe
EGCOMLIB_1035.dll <--search for this one and delete if found

C:\WINDOWS\System32\SVCHOSTA.EXE <--this file, again, look at the spelling
Don't try and delete the legitimate svchost.exe

c:\program files\aws <--this folder
c:\program files\Instant Access <--folder

Stay in safe mode
Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {708CA636-FFE4-261A-23D0-CFAFB9867287} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hcthbwxf.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: ohb - {E539DEA3-BA67-4F1F-A897-5F2F4F29A063} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [yvstfcjf] C:\WINDOWS\imgvrkvr.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Logon Procedure] SVCHOSTA.EXE

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jmxid] C:\WINNT\jmxid.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [] c:\WINDOWS\System32\

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Instant Access] rundll32.exe EGCOMLIB_1035.dll,InstantAccess
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Windows Logon Procedure] SVCHOSTA.EXE

O16 - DPF: {1EB17D1C-141D-4D9D-91CB-24D99215851D} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binaries/IA/n...tia32_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {EEF29D20-9A47-4657-ADF7-283EC2504001} - http://toolbar2.globalwebsearch.com/winenc32.cab

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

Open Windows CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp button
Let it finish scanning for files and when it prompts you to Log off

Restart back to Normal mode
If you didn't install this tool you should manually delete the contents of your Temp folders

Back in Windows
Can you access your Task Manager?
If you can't let me know
If you can I see your running AVG 6, the free version has been updated

This is what I suggest>>visit their site to download the latest version from here
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
scroll down and click on the avg70free_300a419.exe
Save the Installer to desktop but don't install it yet

Instead, access your task manager and shut down everything related too AVG 6
If you still can't access your task manager
Use Hijackthis>>Misc Tools>>Process manager and kill the processes related too
AVG
After you have disabled AVG 6 Uninstall it
Restart your computer to finish the removal
Back in Windows, find and delete this folder
C:\Program Files\Grisoft <--this folder

Now double click on the AVG 7 installer and install the newest version
Restart again if prompted
Allow it to update and also run a Full System Scan

Do as much as you can from the above and then post back with a fresh hijackthis log

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Can you try something for me

You must keep connected to the Internet through all of this

Go into your add/Remove programs and

Uninstall 180 Search Assistant ( Just keep pressing the uninstall button when it prompts).

Then navigate and delete if found
c:\program files\180Solutions

Run Windows cleanup again in Normal mode

When it's done, don't just log off
Instead Restart your computer

If you have any problems with connection you have Winsock XP fix
You shouldn't though

Post back a fresh hijackthis log and let me know if 180 assistant is gone
Also let me know if your task manager is working
Right click the bottom task bar and choose Task Manager

OK,got that done,180 search assistant is now gone off add/remove programs.I did not find it in programs anywhere. Two more ?s.... every time I have restarted computer,a small box pops up ,it takes me like 12 times to close it. It says   qttask.exe-no disk. And since I / you cleaned up my computer I have 43 processes running instead of 28? Is that normal? or did I fail to get something removed? I really appreciate all the help you have been http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />  heres my HJL  Yes my task manager works fine now http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

It says qttask.exe-no disk
That's related too quicktimes tray icon
I can see it running in your running processes, it's not needed on startup and recommended by many to shut it down
Right click Quick times tray Icon and look in the preferences to disable it on startup

Then access your Task manager and end process on qttask.exe

Have Hijackthis fix checked this entry with all other windows closed

Manually update before the 30 days are up and run another scan
As mentioned once you uninstall TDs-3 you can have hijackthis fix that line
Or fix it now, up to you

And since I / you cleaned up my computer I have 43 processes running instead of 28? Is that normal

Not sure if I understand
AVG 7 added a couple extra processes, nothing major
When you first posted your log I seen, including Hijackthis
38 running processes

Now I see
39 running processes
-qttask=38

And you won't see Hijackthis running after your done here http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

I would also consider this one to remove
O4 - Global Startup: hp center.lnk = C:\Program Files\hp center\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe
Backweb is an unneeded background process running on your computer
Here's some info
http://pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/b/backweb.asp
and here
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/detail.php?id=1122

Optional for you to keep Backweb, but I would opt to uninstall Backweb or try to disable it......
Actually I don't see it in your running processes, have you shut it down when you startup
You can have Hijackthis fix that entry

If everything is running better
you should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature

Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled

You should set up protection against future attacks

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
