Download and save to Desktop the
FixIstbar.exe from Symantecs
Don't run it yet

Next:
Download and UNZIP to a folder Hoster by Toadbee
We'll need this later

Print the rest of this out or save to a Notepad file on your Desktop
Also know how to start in Safe mode, I've posted a link how to below, if your unsure
Disconnect from the Internet

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc Tools>>Open Process Manager
Kill these processes
C:\WINDOWS\System32\csrs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\tfghxeo.exe
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZTgServerSwitch] c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft USB Service] csrs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [GK54M1fWn] C:\WINDOWS\tfghxeo.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IST Service] C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft USB Service] csrs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Microsoft USB Service] csrs.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft USB Service] csrs.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Microsoft USB Service] csrs.exe

O8 - Extra context menu item: Web Rebates - file://C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\Sy1150\Tp1150\scri1150a.htm

O16 - DPF: {771A1334-6B08-4A6B-AEDC-CF994BA2CEBE} (Installer Class) - http://www.ysbweb.com/ist/softwares/v4.0/ysb_1002535.cab

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Access  your Add/Remove Programs and remove if Present
Istbar
ISTsvc
Web Rebates

Don't restart

Find and delete these files or folders if they exist
C:\WINDOWS\System32\csrs.exe <--file, notice the spelling
C:\WINDOWS\tfghxeo.exe

C:\Program Files\ISTsvc<--folder

Open Hoster and click the RESTORE ORIGINAL HOSTS

Stay in safe mode and run the FixIstbar Removal tool

Restart back to Normal mode afterwards

Run an Online Virus scan at Trend Micro's >>> Set to Autoclean
Whatever it can't clean delete manually
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Before posting back a fresh log, ensure that you have everything enabled on startup
with MSCONFIG
Don't restart your computer again
Instead run another scan with Hijackthis and post the log

Looks good, you just have to have Hijackthis fix this one

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Do it with all other windows closed, including this one

If everything is running better
You should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature

Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled

You should set up protection against future attacks

Is there a reason your so far behind on Windows Updates?
This is probably the most important in keeping your system secure
IF you have a legit version I would check for latest updates
If you want some steps in helping to  install Service Pack 2>> let me know
If your on dialup>>Order the CD
At minimum, you should install Service pack 1a
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...p1/default.mspx
Once installed and rebooted
Go back and see if there are any more Critical updates to Install
Don't get the Recommended unless wanted
If you decide to take the plunge to Service Pack 2
You won't need to install 1a first

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial
Download link==Download link
Scroll down and click on IE-SPYAD.EXE Free!

With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Keep the link to IE-Spyad bookmarked so you can check for updates
SpywareBlaster, after every update just simply enable all protection
