Erm, this is my first post. Anyways...

I did a complete system restore to my PC, however I havent been in much sites but still I get pop outs without being on the net, I mean I'm connected to the Internet, yet I aint surfing it...

If anyone knows a good anti-spyware program or pop out blocker please let me know, I thank you... o_o;;

Since you did the clean install, this would be a good time to ensure all drivers are up to date
Also make sure you visit Windows Updates and get all latest critical updates and service packs
Don't install Recommended unless wanted

If we're talking about Windows XP
On a new install the Services>>Messenger and Alerter will be on by default
Even after apply Service Pack 1
Service pack 2 disables Messenger by default
If you don't plan on installing SP2 you will have to disable that service ( I recommend SP2)

Go to
START>>RUN>>type in services.msc
Hit OK
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- Messenger

Double click on it--- STOP the service--
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Disabled
from Automatic
Do the same for Alerter
