guestolo please help
« on: March 16, 2005, 02:28:26 AM »
hi i posted this before but you didnot reply

repeat

problem discription

i have noticed this uniqe problem with kaspersky pro

my real time scanning regularly detects this riskware MSRSTRT but not able to delete it

and no riskware is detected in scanning mode ,of course i had used same settings in both.

my com is also behaving strangely since appearance of this riskware

1.it restarts on its own in middle of surfing
2.it sometimes gives a message that

generic host for windows 32 has encounterd a problem and neeeds to close sorry for the inconviniace

3.my cpu usage goes to 100% just before crashing

I have done everything from using nod32 as supplement (no virus is detected by it in any mode not even MSRSTRT) to running both antivirus in safe mode

also used wintasks as suggested by someone but no help

If you can wait, I'll look at your log tomorrow
Sorry, but that's it for me for tonight
I'll make sure I look at it first thing after work

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

I'm not sure how much TDS3 has cleared up, but try the below

Please print this out or save to a Notepad file on your desktop

Go to START>>>RUN>>>type in services.msc and hit Enter
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- Srv32 <-let me know if you find it

Double click on it--- STOP the service--
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Disabled

Find and delete these files if found
C:\WINDOWS\system32\srv32.exe <-file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winole.exe <-file

Let me know if you can find this file
C:\WINDOWS\MSRSTRT.EXE

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R3 - URLSearchHook: HyperSearchHook - {208C6E85-89C0-4388-9556-D2C6C45F943F} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Hyperbar\HyperbarSS3.dll (file missing)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Compliant] winole.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windows Compliant] winole.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows Compliant] winole.exe

O23 - Service: Srv32 - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\srv32.exe (file missing)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Go to START>>RUN>>type in
%temp%
In new window select EDIT>>SELECT ALL
Delete the selected

Restart back to Normal mode and post a fresh Hijackthis log

As mentioned, I'm not sure what TDS3 found or fixed on your computer

We just got rid of some leftovers

I wouldn't run 2 AV's on your system
This can cause Conflicts and Instability

Uninstall one of them

Also I see an entry in your log for DAP, are you still using it?
After removal let  me know how everything is running

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

well i was using nod32 in active nod and kaspersky in scanning mode ,also the problem(crashes) started
well before installing these programmes .

Ok i have removed nod32 .

Yes i am still using DAP during downloads.

THere are still crashes while surfing also another problem I forgot to mention berfore ,
do you think its normal for desktop to move forward and bckward (like things move in a camera during focusing)
while you execute different programmes.

here is my fresh log with hijack this

Can you try something for me please
Download this virus checker from eScan
Mwav.exe
There's nothing to install, save it and then double click to run
It will self extract

Select all local drives, scan all files, press 'SCAN' and when it is completed, anything found will be displayed in the lower pane.
In the Virus Log Information Pane
Left click and Highlight all the info in the Lower pane---  Use "CTRL  C" on your Keyboard to copy all found in the lower pane  and save it too a notepad file

****If prompted that a Virus was found and you need to purchase the product  to remove the malware, just close out the prompt and let it continue scanning
We just want to see where the bad guys are

You may want to run it in safe mode, so ensure you save the log to a Notepad file
And please post the log back here

Post back a fresh hijackthis log afterwards too

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

hi guestalo

I scanned my system at maximum settings with this scanner but no virus was found by it.
No doubt it was using the database of kaspersky which is already installed in my comp
as I already said before.I did the scan in safe mode

WELL IF YOU THINK I AM NOT INFECTED BY ANY MALACIOUS CODE ,CUD IT BE THAT I had corruped some vital system file
which is causing all the problems .Is there a utility to check that and repair it .I dont want to repair my system using windows repair fuction
cos it erases all security patches and sp2(300 mb redownload). And my system do not work without sp1 since it has latest 915GAV motherboard.

here is my fresh hijack this log

EDIT>>I just reread your reply
You could try System File Checker>>Have your XP CD ready if needed
http://www.networkclue.com/os/Windows/commands/sfc.php

I don't think I'm going to be much help here
From the scanners you say you have run I didn't get a chance to see one report from one of them
I can't help determine what the problem may be
Sorry I couldn't of been any assistance

I would of liked to see the results from tds3 and mwav
eScan's Mwav is not Kaperskys>>you indicated nothing found however

You could try to track down other results from this malware you had on your computer
winole.exe
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=winole...le+Search&meta=

Good luck
