daosearch problems

My computer just started acting up last night and it's really bugging me because neither Ad-aware, or Norton Antivirus can find or stop the problem, so I'd appreciate any help on this as I have no idea what to do.

The only noticable issues I'm having are frequent popups from Daosearch.com and on any website I go to there's random words that have been turned into links to Daosearch.com/search.php....

And the internet seems to be slow on loading pages, but that could be unrelated.

Install for now, don't run a scan yet

HSFix directory will be created
We'll need this later

===Download and save to Desktop SpSeHjfix110.zip

UNZIP the contents, so you now have SpSeHjfix110.exe on your desktop
We'll need this later

===Download and save to deskop
DelDomains.inf

We'll need this later>>If using a Mozilla browser, right click on that link and SAVE Link As, save it to desktop

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders if found

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\drct16.dll <-file

Stay in safe mode

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows,
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

===Navigate to the HSFix directory>>Open the folder, ensure you unzipped this
 and double-click on HSFix.bat.
* It will produce a log file, located here: C:\hslog.txt. <--we'll need this later

======Right Click on DelDomains.inf>>Choose Install from the menu bar
This will delete all your Trusted and Ranges entries


Stay in safe mode
Open Windows CleanUp!>>START>>All programs>>Cleanup!
Click on the CleanUp button, let it finish scanning for files, when it's done
Don't log off or restart yet

Instead run SpSeHjfix110.exe and click the START Disinfection
It should Reboot your computer after you run it, if not

Restart your computer back to Normal mode

Don't open a browser yet, instead access Internet Options via Control Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"
Under the General tab---Reset home page,


Afterwards post back a fresh Hijackthis log,
Could you also post the log from HSFix.bat>>C:\hslog.txt <-this log
And the log from SpSeHjfix110.exe

Looks like one entry didn't remove in your log, but I would also like to check out another entry

Do you have FreeBSD installed?
It looks like it by this entry in your log
O23 - Service: Provides three management service (FreeBSD) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\dev32.exe

Could you copy and paste these instructions too a Notepad file and leave them on your desktop
Could you restart back to Safe mode please

Find and delete this file if found
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mocih.exe <-file

Go to START>>>RUN>>>type in services.msc and hit Enter
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- Trace network connections (ACCRA)

Double click on it--- STOP the service--
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Disabled

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools sections>>Open "Delete an NT Service"
Copy an paste this entry in bold into the blank box
and then hit OK

Trace network connections

Do the same for this one too
ACCRA

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O23 - Service: Trace network connections (ACCRA) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\mocih.exe (file missing)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Restart back to Normal mode and post back a fresh Hijackthis log afterwards

I'm not really sure what Free BSD is.. so I'm guessing I didn't install it on purpose.  Could you briefly explain what it is if you know? (so I can figure out if it's supposed to be there, because it seems like dev32.exe has shown up in my running processes for awhile)
 I do have 3 computers in the house on a network if that's what the 'Trace network connections (ACCRA)' is for..  Though you'd know better than me, and I don't recognize mocih.exe.  Just so long as removing that will not hurt my network..

I will try those steps tomorrow because it's about bed time now..  Thank you again!

Use the browse button and navigate to this file on your hard disk
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dev32.exe <--this file

Right click on the file and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning
Could you post back the results of the scan back here please, just the scanner results

If everything is running better

You should clear your System Restore points
disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature

Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled

You should set up protection against future attacks

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
