Brad Dosland leaves Imagine
« on: July 10, 2000, 11:29:04 PM »
Since the higher-ups at MaxPC, Imagine Media, or whoever decided to delete Big Daddy\'s post, here it is:

July 9, 2000

TO: Marcale Wallace,
General Manager of Imagine Media\'s Online Computer Division

FROM: Brad Dosland

After over five years in service to the readers of CD-ROM Today, boot, and Maximum PC--along with the visitors to MaximumPC.com, MacAddict.com, MaximumLinux.com, DigitalFoto.com, the late MacDaily.com, and MaximumPC.co.uk--I am resigning as Editorial Director of Imagine Media\'s Computer division online group.

My decision is based on the diminished role of editorial concerns in the development of sites. Without editorial as the primary architect of the brand, I do not feel the integrity of any publication can be assured.

While I lacked the political skills of many who have risen at Imagine Media, I will miss the freedom and promise that first drew me here. I will especially miss the dedicated editors and artists I had the opportunity to work with, even the late nights and weekends spent in the trenches on deadline.

And I will surely miss the readers.

Signing off,
Brad \"Big Daddy\" Dosland

I just can\'t see why they pulled it -it wasn\'t that bad! Somebody at the top must be fealing very insecure! I hope the mag doesn\'t go down hill -but it sure did take a nose dive when Big Daddy got promoted out of the editor in chief chair...

Go over the edge...

Remember a few months ago a guy posted that at the phone of MPC he was told that at the end of the year MPC will shut?
He was inmediatly flamed specially by MPC staff, now I´m thinking about: maybe was true, PCXL dead must be a warning signal too...

Time to learn is endless

I thought they were just full of BS.  I dunno.

I don\'t think MaxPC is planning to shut down...but at this rate I hope everyone there has a job on the side.
