I would put an old DOS disk in Disk 1
And that was enough to start installing

\' />
Dos disk from the old win 3.1 Days

?
You could even try borrowing a friends win 98 CDROM and put that in the drive ready as it checks for other versions...
Need 2 cdrom drives

Apart from that mate i would alos be interested in a
newer way to get around this issue??
Not sure if a Boot disk would qualify as a checking disk??
Hope this helps a bit and its not a lost cause

I ws new to win 2k and recently installed / tryed to install it from windows

http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'

\' /> it didnt work....
So the way around this was to create Win2k Boot Disks
which = 4 floppy\'s so using the boot disks it went straight in to setup mode...
My win 2k wasnt from a shop

??
Just zeros & ones
