Howdy,

Clickspring got me that dirty dog.  Here's my HJT log.  I read really well, but I guess I don't follow.  I tried to follow your directions to Gidget1486 but I lost it on findit.bat  Help me.  Thanks.

Can you do the following please

Download and UNZIP to desktop Findit.zip

So you now have findit.bat on the desktop

Double click on findit.bat and copy and paste back the contents of the text file that is produced

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link

Next use Windows Explorer to navigate to this location and delete the file in bold:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\??oolsv.exe <--this file was created or modifed on 04/21/2005 and is 430,080 bytes in size.
Approx. 419kb
The ??oolsv.exe file may not have the typical .exe icon, so look closely

The ? in the file name is not really a ?, it is just a character that Windows doesn't recognize.
It may also be in disguise as the legitimate spoolsv.exe
Don't delete the good guy

The best way to find this file is to click on (in Windows Explorer) View, Arrange icons by... and select Size.  Then look for files that are 430,080 bytes that were created or modified on 04/21/2005 at 09:44 AM.  There shouldn't be more than one.
When you find the bad file, send it too the recycle bin

Restart back to Normal mode

Back in normal mode, post back one mere hijackthis log and also
Double click on findit.bat again and post the contents of the text file
