hi all
having major problems with spyware , not able to remove no matter what...

Can you do the following please

Download L2mfix from here

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

I wanted to hold off on a fix to this post until we resolved your other issue
Didn't want to take the chance of overwriting your files if we installed other software
and needed recovery software to retreive the lost files
But you got them back so let's carry on

Download and UNZIP to desktop Fix.zip, so you now have fix.reg on the desktop
We'll need this later

Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation

Once in Safe mode
Double-click on Nailfix.cmd.  Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Find and delete this file if found
c:\windows\system32\vqmulu.exe <-file

Double click on fix.reg and allow to add or merge to the registry

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

Can you do the following please

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>Open "Delete a file on Reboot"
Copy and paste the full path of the file to delete in bold directly below to the File name field

C:\WINDOWS\ICONT.EXE

Then Click OPEN
Hijackthis should prompt you that the file will be deleted and to Reboot your computer
DON'T allow to Reboot yet

Instead

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Restart your computer

Back in Windows

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Make sure this file is gone

C:\WINDOWS\ICONT.EXE

Use the browse button and navigate to this file on your hard drive

If you don't read the Memory Dumps, you can disable this feature, most do

Used in connection with memory dumps - you can disable these by - right clicking on My Computer selecting Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on the Settings button in 'Startup and Recovery'. In the bottom pane - under 'Write debugging information' - click on the down arrow and then select 'None' - OK your way out

Could you post a fresh Hijackthis log afterwards and let me know how everythings running

Also, can you do this one more time
Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

That's looking good, can you do the following for some final cleanup please

Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
IMPORTANT>>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as fix2.reg

Save this file on the desktop
