It seems like an error in Java, but I guess you figured that out

What I do see however is it looks like an old version of Java

The newer version is more stable and secure

You may want access the Windows Control Panel
and open the Java Plugin
Under the Cache tab
Delete all cache

Then access your add/remove programs and Remove the old version of Sun Java Runtime

Restart the computer if prompted

Then access this link
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

And download the Windows Offline Installation of the newer version
and then install it

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Yeah I figured that, but I wonder why I got the document on my desktop. I have the most recent java plugin. Do you think it was corrupted, and just needs to installed again, or should I completely remove it first, then reinstall it?

If you enter the Control Panel and open the Java Plugin
Under the General tab
Click ABOUT
What version does it tell you, you have?

Verbatim:

Java(tm) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.3.1_04

Default Virtual Machine Version 1.3.1_04-b02

Java(tm) Plug-in 1.3.1_04

I assume this is the most recent version because it is supposed to let me know whenever there is a newer version available.

Unfortunately, I never find the updater to Sun Java that reliable
That's why I usually disable it and manually check for updates

I would do as I suggested earlier and uninstall yours from Add/Remove programs and install the latest version
