Like many others on this forum, i too have been mercilessly attacked by the sheriff and his desktop-hijacking deputy.

I have found, removed and then laughed at the sheriff, a combination of HijackThis, Add/Remove Programs, and some Windows Washer Bleach. Its gone for good.

However, my desktop is still in the clutches of the blue screen with the black box in the middle, and it is refusing to let me put my background back on.

I have looked around the forum, but could not find anything on this.
