Browser Redirection help

[Texas Toast]

Greetings. My son's computer is linked to the internet via wireless router. The connection strength is good and wireless internet access from other computers works, but his browsers always get redirected.  I suspect a virus and have run spybot and AVG but he still gets redirected and can't connect to the internet. A hijack post for his computer follows (hopefully) Thanks for any help you can provide.

bump. The redirector seems to be "windows\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.404ads.net:80", if that helps. Any other help you can offer about how to clean up this hijack log will also be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Allow to overwrite your version if prompted

Could I also have you do the following after you post the hijackthis log

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>>Open Uninstall Manager
Click the SAVE LIST button
Save the list to desktop
Copy and paste back the whole contents of this list too

Let's start some cleanup

Can you access your Add/Remove programs and remove the following please
D-Helper Web Driver
Adware Remover Gold 7.3.0.0 <-If you didn't pay for this please remove it, we'll get you a more reliable Spyware application
IE Host
MaxSpeed
Viewpoint Media Player
Windows SR 2.0

Finally, Remove Spybot 1.3
Spybot is a legitimate program, that many use including myself
But I would like you to update your version
So please uninstall it for now

I didn't include Xoftspy in the list for removal, although it is not on the bogus list
I still don't trust it
Again, if you didn't pay for it, please remove it

Restart your computer after removing the above

Back in Windows

Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Ensure you have this latest version
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the  check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
Ad-Aware should prompt you to download the latest updates, do so but Don't run a scan yet
Please make sure you have it right up to date

Next:
Download and Install Spybot 1.4 from

Don't activate the Tea Timer when installing, it's a great feature but can get in the way
of any fixes we may still have to do
After installation--Click the UPDATE button on the left
SEARCH FOR UPDATES on the right
Check, and download all updates
Don't run a scan yet

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation

In safe mode

==Open Windows CleanUp!>>START>>programs>>Cleanup!
Click on the CleanUp button, let it finish scanning for files, when it's done
DECLINE to Log off or Restart when scan is done.

Open Ad-Aware
Click START
Click the radio button to Perform a Full system scan then click NEXT
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process
Please restart back to Safe mode

Back in safe mode
Open Spybot
Click the Search & Destroy button on the left
Check for Problems---When the Scan is complete
FIX all selected promblems in RED

Restart your computer back to Normal mode

Run another scan with Hijackthis and post a fresh log
