Help! Win32.P2P-Worm.Alcan.a
« on: June 27, 2005, 03:06:31 PM »
Hey, it's me again(Daniel Eyster) now registered.  As I said my, computer has the Win32.P2P-Worm.Alcan.a and I can't get rid of it.  The only symtom that I know of that I think is related to it is that every so often my computer might shut off and reboot on its own(very annoying).

Once Again, Here's my log from Hijack This:

Help! Win32.P2P-Worm.Alcan.a
« Reply #1 on: June 27, 2005, 03:48:57 PM »
I used the steps from the thread below and it seems to have worked.  My Ad-Aware Se scan is still going as we speak, but its past the drive that had the problems so I think I'll be ok...

I saved the thread as a .mht file on my desktop so i could read it while in safe mode, etc.

Had the same problem (Win32.P2P-Worm.Alcan.a) but have since fixed the problem.

I used the steps from the thread below and it seems to have worked. have completed multiple Ad-Aware Se scans and nothing has been found.  Also task manager and regedit.exe now work too.

http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.ph...=18075&hl=alcan

I saved the thread as a .mht file on my desktop so i could read it while in safe mode, etc.

Also I noticed two new folders in my computer that had tons and I mean tons (3 Gb maybe?) of zip files that I hadn't downloaded. Have since deleted them, but of course, I forgot to recored their names.  So you might want to search for a couple large folders (with lots of zip files) on your hard drivers too.
