Need help with Dell Win Xp home
« on: June 30, 2005, 11:02:17 PM »
Ok, To start off I'm new here, so Hello all.

I'm trying to use my mom's Win Xp home Disk that came with her Dell Pc. I've installed it and it works but I've run into that 30 day thing. I changed the product key, but it keeps asking for an activation code that I'm supposed to get from dell. It gives me a list of #s to give to the operator at dell. My question: Is there a program that can get me that code with out calling dell and where could I get said program?

Just to let you know, it is illegal to use a dell or such cd on another PC. You can obtain a new copy by going to your local PC shop, BestBuy, or Futureshop.

well, to stay legit, look at local comp stores/ebay ect for an OEM edition. They are much cheaper. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />
