So me being the moneysaving type tried to install my uncles version of Windows XP Pro, however it then asked for the key code which we did not know. I now have another disk with the right key code, but when i try 2 install it is says that it 'failed to install the product catalogs' and said it was error '800b0100'...so XP pro is now partly installed, should i format my hard drive and start agen? and how would i do that??

do a format
Windows: A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.

For God's Sake, stop using Micro$oft's stuff - it has security like a piece of swiss cheese!

lol yes as "i_and_identity" said, format the hard drive, but it sounds like ud have trouble doing that? dont meen to be rude or patronise u or anything of corse, sorry if it came over like that, im a nice guy realy lol

to format ur puter using Xp, boot the computer up with the Xp CD in the drive, then select "boot from CD" when it asks you to choose between the hard drive and the CD. this should take you into windows setup. its prety self explanitary from here on, just you might need to delete partitions. dont worry about this, it jus means that its gona wipe them clean for you, then it will put windows back on it

jus one question, y didnt you buy a mac? lol, as you will see from virtualy all of my other posts, im quite anit-microsoft lol

hope that helped a bit
