msmsgs.exe
« on: July 23, 2005, 09:02:17 PM »
I read from some of the tech website that msmsgs.exe is a worm and should be gotten rid of, can anyone advise how I can do that as it is appearing in my task manager and even though I chose the "end process" but it still keep on appearing after a few minutes.

Thanks

Download Hijackthis from my Signature below
Save it too a folder on your hard drive

Open Hijackthis.exe
Do a SCAN and Save a Log file---Save the log----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important

Guestolo, thanks for your help.

As a new comer to this forum, I did not know exactly how to post the reply back to you, I believe you did not receive my reply with the logfile.

If you can receive this message please let me know.

Many thanks.

James

guestolo, by the time you see this message, I have already resolve the problem of the msmsgs.exe. I found it in the old version Messenger directory and rename it so that it will not run again and at the same time I downloaded the latest version of MSN messenger software. This problem has thus cease to appear on my task bar.

By the way I have post another questions on this forum yesterday regarding installing Yahoo Messenger which I face problem, wonder if you can help advise me.

Many thanks again.
