Free downloader program
« on: August 06, 2005, 01:29:10 PM »
Hey,
I was wanting to know if anyone could suggest a free downloader that will continue a download after rebooting. Most downloaders that come with todays browsers, Firefox, KMeleon, Opera, and the rest don't offer the feature of re-continuing a download after you have shut down.

eMule is the only one that I normally use to do that. But I thought there may be a stand-alone program (free) that you would know of that after you shut down your PC and the next day you get online again that the downloader would just continue where you left off from the previous online access.

Could anyone who may know of a free one please post a link to it or them if possible? I would be in your debt.

                                        Thxs,

GetRight isn't really free, but there is no limit on the trial version.
Download Expert is free
Download Accelerator Plus has a free version but its ad supported
Download Mage is a really great little program, and only costs $12.50
EzAuto Downloader, FlashGet has a free version, GetLeft is free, LeechGet is free for personal use, NetAnts, NetLeech, WackGet, Aaron's Web Vacuum has a free version, Download2Home, Download Wonder, Fresh Download is free for personal use, but has to be registered after 23 days, HTTrack, NetGo, PictureTools, WebReaper, Zonie Downloader, and those are just the free ones from a list I have evaluated.
I can't tell you where I found all of them. Just search for them on Google, and try download.com. I still have the setup progams for the versions I evaluated. I can send a cd for the cost of shipping or email them to you.
