does anyone know of a proggy that is able to view the contents of a iso and maybe extract selected contents from it ???

Does anyone know of anyway of running iso\'s without burning them onto cd to check if the boot sector is good?

No, sorry.  I tried to fool vmware several times to make it think the iso was a cd, and see if it\'d boot, but no go.  And there\'s programs that\'ll mount an iso like it was a regular cd.  But they don\'t load until after you boot (and no they won\'t work with vmware, tried that too).

So basically, ya just gotta get a pack of CDRWs and do all your testing on those.

i\'m using something from daemontools... pretty nice prog. sets it up as a cd drive

Connectix just came out with a new program (VirtualPC) that will accept ISO files (I believe).  Check www.connectix.com for more information.  Its basically the same as VMWare from what I hear; I ran the beta for a while and it worked pretty well.

You can create a duplicate copy of your ISO file and convert it to VCD (Virtual CD) image file by using the Virtual Drive software from www.farstone.com. Load your VCD file to the Virtual Drive for testing.
