Hi,

Windows automatically downloaded service pack 2 and I allowed it to be installed. The odd thing was that after the update whenever windows starts my mouse and keyboard do not work. In fact, nothing plugged into the USB ports works. Even in safe mode this happens.

When the computer boots it seeks my mouse and keyboard and they work until the OS loads.

I'm not sure if there was a corruption when SP2 installed or not but it is perplexing.

I had to reinstall the OS in order to get the thing to work, now I am reluctant to reinstall SP2 again.

Any ideas what might have happened?

I was a Virus most likely. Could you have restored windows?

did you try safe mode to get in and see what the problem was?
