Ok, who here\'s gotten their PC to run STABLE at a gig or more? Tell me what mobo, cpu, heatsink, etc. that you used. I can hit 1015MHz but it\'s not 100% stable. My 700E just seems to like 933 at 1.7 volts.

My Asus CUSL2 came in the other day, I\'ll see if I can hit 1015 again and stay stable this time.

I wasn\'t any more stable at 1015 with the Asus, BUT I could run stably at 1GHz. I had to have the voltage at 1.85 though which was too high for me, so it\'s currently back at 933MHz 1.70 volts.

got my 700 a few days ago, it runs 933 no prob, i haven\'t tried any higher but i will. i don\'t think i will be able to get an higher because of my ram.....

Mine\'ll top out at 1050, won\'t post past that. I doubt it\'s bad ram, I just need better cooling.

I am using the Abit VP6 dual 700 oc to 1120 using Tonicon 166 ram cas 222 2 pep66 with 72watts peltiers, blue orb on chipset.

my computer runs very stable. the longest record time i had my computer up was around 14-15 days. my specs are:

1gig amd thunderbird /w heatsink and fan
512mb ram
asus a7v motherboard
windows 2000, sp2

Hello, this is my first post here, looks like a nice site.

I am writing this note on my P3-700 (no e, there is only one p3-700, thus no e designation) running at 1050MHz. It has been running like this since the first of this year, without a single lockup. Here\'s the scoop on my recipe:

Slot 1 OEM C step (CA2 revision) P3-700
ASUS P3B-F i440bx m/b (i815 gives up a lot in memory throughput, VIA even more)
Infineon 7.5ns PC133 CAS 3 256MB DIMM, late model high density type
Hercules/Guillmot Prophet2 64MB GF2-GTS (clocked hard

And a bunch of other stuff not related to the 1.05 GHz ability.

I run the FSB at 150MHz (the Infineon ram is so good I can run CAS2!), yielding the 1050MHz on-chip clock rate. This is only possible on a bx board if you use the finest ram available (Infineon), and a video card that will deal with the out-of-spec 100MHz AGP clock. Matrox G400 and G450 handle it fine, along with virtually any quality GeForce based video card.

I run 1.8V with this chip, a modest Cofan cast heatsink, and use the stellar Antec SX830 case. Bear in mind that the 1050MHz is the outer limit for even a C step chip, older cores won\'t get near it. Also understand that not all examples will be 100% stable at this rate. I had a second example that never was 100%, even with the voltage pushed to 1.85V. Better cooling will not turn the second example into the first

This setup is rocket fast, as good \'ole bx is still wrings more performance from each MHz than any other chipset. I have done this same setup on a ABIT BF6 bx board, it will do the same with the same ram and cpu.

I have yet to overclock it though. DO you think I could hit 1GHz? Please reply. I think I need at least a 933MHz CPU to run XP Home on.

I\'ve never had any problems with this issue. Running an 800 Celeron right now on a MSI Pro 266 Master (non-raid) overclocked to 1066. Stable as anything, Via not withstanding.

Had a Celeron600 up as high as 1035MHz stable using 1.8Volt core, Running on an ABIT VH6 Mainboard. Ran stable at that speed, but kept shelling PCI cards, (NICs, and sound cards), so i backed it down to 1008MHz, ran reliably for a year and a half at that speed until the chipset on the mainboard could no longer handle the stress, this CPU has been moved to a new mainboard but is no longer overclocked.

how can you hit 1Gig with a 700E? Are you pushing the FSB past 133, using a 100MHz chip? That\'s unbelievable!. I\'m the one with the Dimension. I am scared to lift my FSB past 150. My FSB is already running at 133. Normal spped

weird, I hit 1900MHz with a 700E Pentium III. BTW, I Water-cool my system and also use a fridge for the water to stay cool.

why scared? I run my Pentium 3 700E at 1900 dam water cooled. Also another thing. I have another machine running 2400MHz Pentium 3! The multiplier is unlocked.

I\'m running two Soyo SY6BA+100 boards (mine and my wifes\') with 700 and 750(her) slot 1\'s over a gig and have been for more than a year. The key is good ram. If the ram won\'t handle the speed you get a lot of errors. I built a P4 for my daughter using Soyo\'s dragon ultra and I can kick her P4 1600(478) over 2.2 gig without breaking a sweat. Again the secret is buy good ram and a good vid card.

I have the EXACT same computer except i installed a GeForce 5600Card "santa"

I want to turn up the juice a lil and see how it runs but i cannot figure out how to do it... to many adds and to lil time....

P866 INTEL... Dimension 4100....

Win XP will run on a p2 450 w/ 64mb ram (better then Me will, thats for damn sure!)....
