« on: October 09, 2005, 03:19:18 AM »
For some reason every once in awhile....like 1 every 2 months when I lauch firefox it asks me what default user I want to choose or create. It will not let me choose the one I always use, so I create another one and it resets ALL of my bookmarks, cookies and all that informaton to the default settings that was there when you first install firefox. I want my old ones back, how do I change it?. I had all of my bookmarks so organized and I hate when it does this, it's the second time!. Please help me!.

It often does this when you're already running firefox and try to open a new window.  It may have crashed, closing the window but the process may still be running.  Use task manager to find and kill all firefox.exe processes, then try to run again.  Or just reboot.

Close firefox completely including the processes.

In the run box type:
firefox.exe -profilemanager

Choose the old profile.
