Hi Forum,
Here's my problem, I have a Compaq Armade e500 that came with recovery cd's for Win 2K, and NT4, COA is present on machine for both.
This is all great, except:
- NT 4 uses ntfs file system

\' /> - Win 2K uses FAT
http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> - Win 2K disks are made with .IMG files and won't let me upgrade over ntfs file system
I would like to know how to join the .IMG files together...( on each disk is Disk 1.img, and disk2.img, so two disks that both have two files on them)
and extract the two images into one directory, or two if I need to. and what directories I need to include, along with what other files (couple hidden ones like bootstrap.bin, or whatever the tutorials say I need).
BTW... I Have Read the tutorials on how to make a bootable disk, but none cover .img files and joining them together. Below is how I think I need to do it, but please set me straight.
1. copy disk#1 disk1.img to hdd
2. " " #2 " " "
3.then use some magical copy command to join the files as one
4. do the same for the files for disk2.img
5.use some program to either mount the images, or extract them to seperate directories
6.compile an ISO , including the files mentioned in the tutorials
7.slipstream the os with service pack files
8.burn the disc.
Tips on how to do the "Vague" things above would be much appreciated
Also can one "Slipstream" more then Servicepack files? such as Firefox, AVG,Wireless network drivers, and so forth? Kindof along the lines of a "Pre-Installed Environment"?
