Analog video cameras?
« on: November 25, 2005, 06:58:21 PM »
Ok, so i have a (ANALOG) Sony CCD-TRV93 camcoder for the past 6-7 years.

I have S-video in the back of my PC and a S-video input on the camera. Is there any possible way to PROJECT the tape image from the camcoder onto the PC? Do i need a program?

All i want to do is project a still/paused-image from the ccamcoder onto the PC screen.....although i have a feeling this will be nearly impossible with the tools i have now.. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

What you need is a capture device.
It can be an internal PCI card or an external USB device.
There are many available that are cheap to very expensive.
Go to Newegg.com and do a search for video capture devices.
You will have many to choose from.
I have a Dazzle USB capture device that works very well and the price was reasonable.
Good luck!
