Having spyware problem

Hi all,
          Since yesterday have had this computer problem after opening a file my friend sent me. I have the updated versions of adaware and spybot S&D installed on my computer. I also have spywareblaster as well as CWSshredder and windows cleanup. I used all of these software in both the safe mode as well as normal mode to remove stuf. i even deleted a few screwy processes from the HighJack this log. I still could not solve the problem.

Here is a brief description of problem as well as the highjack this log:

Description:

Taskbar shows a blinking windows security alert notifying me of spyware infection. It also tells us to use this antispyware software called spyaxe (which I think is the source of my problem).

Detail:

On clicking on the ballon we are taken to a security alert webpage on internet explorer which allows us to link to three antispyware software sites (one of which is spyaxe). I have set the Google website as my default webpage but whenever I open IE it still opens the same security alert. Also it has removed my google taskbar and yahoo taskbar containing the popup blockers.

Need to know what to do? It is yet allowing me to access other sites but do not know how secure my email passwords and other password protected entries are.

I am currently using Windows XP Professional.

Download SpyAxeFix.exe © noahdfear. Save it to your desktop. Close all other programs and windows. Double click SpyAxeFix.exe, then click Start to extract the tool to it's own folder. Open the SpyAxeFix folder and double click the SpyAxeFix.bat to start the tool. At one point when the tool runs, your taskbar will dissappear, and your computer will restart when the tool completes. A text file named spyaxe.txt will be created in the SpyAxeFix folder. Post the contents of that log please.

Ewido Security Suite

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link after you have Ewido installed

Download SmitRem.exe by Noahdfear and save the file to your desktop.

Please print the next set of instructions or save them too a notepad file on your desktop for reference

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O2 - BHO: HomepageBHO - {3e9b951e-6f72-431b-82cf-4a9fbf2f53bc} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hpEA4F.tmp

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Select Safe mode from the Startup menu

Once in safe mode
==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
  *2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
  *3. Perform action with all infections
  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: Well Ewido is running, don't open any other windows, let it do it's job

==Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
When it's done, decline to log off or restart the computer

==Double click on SmitRem.exe to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.
Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

Reboot back to Normal mode

Post the following back please
1. A fresh hijackthis log
2. The full report from Ewido's
3. Post the log made from SmitRem located here C:\Smitfiles.txt

As for your questions, life has been generally hectic especially duer to work. But no complaints, I like what I do that is important. The sole reason attributable to the pending windows updates is I had say pure neglect (partly because I have gotten lazy and am generally tired). As I travel a lot nowadays I tend to use this computer very little. In fact I have used this machine only a handful of times in the past six months. Have never been around to use it. Also I tend to use my laptop more often these days. Plus as my work is computer related and takes long hours coming home to sit in front of another computer does not sound particularly interesting (you know what I mean I hope).

And yes my Windows copy is Legit. This last incident on using my computer has shook some sense back into me. I have resolved to finish updating the system today. Also I have now started using firefox as a browser as I do on my laptop. Just lesser hassles with security (till now!).

*Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer
After installation, Check for updates and then click the "Enable all protection"

Check for updates every couple of weeks
after every update just simply click the "enable protection...."

NOTE: IF you haven't updated to SP2 yet

I would first disable System restore>>Restart the computer>>Then reeanble system restore
Then go get the latest updates
