Can you redownload hijackthis from my signature below please
Save it too a permanent folder on your harddrive
Only run hijackthis from this new location

==Download and save WinPFind.zip
UNZIP the contents to your desktop
Don't run it yet

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Choose Safe mode from the startup menu

Open the WinPFind folder you extracted to desktop
Double click on WinPFind.exe
Click START SCAN
This could take some time as it will scan your drive
Close out after

Restart back to Normal mode
Post the results of the WindPFind.txt located in the WinPFind folder
Also post a fresh hijackthis log

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

P2Pnetworking.exe HELP!!!
« Reply #3 on: December 04, 2005, 10:51:33 PM »
I need you too do the following

Open Spybot, make sure your running Spybot 1.4
and Search for updates
If your not running the latest version
uninstall yours from add/remove programs and install the latest  from
HERE
Ensure it is updated, Do Not run a scan yet

Now let's get some more tools
When I ask you too download a zip file, make sure you choose SAVE TO DISK rather than Open

Can you open "MyComputer"
Double click to open Local Disk C: drive
Right click an empty spot  and left click NEW>>Folder
A new folder will be placed in the C: folder , name it BFU
So you now have C:\BFU

Download and save p2pnetwork.zip
Then UNZIP it to the BFU Folder

Download and save and then UNZIP to the BFU folder
BFU.zip
So you now have BFU.exe extracted

==Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders, cookies, etc...
Windows Cleanup! 4.0
Don't run it yet

==Download and then Install
Ewido Security Suite

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link after you have Ewido installed
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe
Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Please  save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop for reference
or Print them out!

You are controlling entries with a startup manager or msconfig
I need you to reenable everything on Startup so I get to see what's running
Go to START>>>RUN>>type in
msconfig
Hit OK
Under the STARTUP tab>>Enable ALL
Under the General tab>>select Normal startup
Apply it and Close

RESTART your Computer into SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Choose Safe mode from the startup menu and hit Enter

In safe mode

Double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop.  Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat.  Follow the prompts.

Stay in safe mode
Open the BFU folder
Double click to run BFU.exe
Use the "Open Script file" button (the folder icon next to Scriptfile to execute)
Navigate to p2pnetwork.bfu in the BFU folder
Right click p2pnetwork.bfu and choose Select
In Brute Force Uninstaller select Execute
Let it finish then Exit

==Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

    * Empty Recycle Bins
    * Delete Cookies
    * Delete Prefetch files
    * Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
When it's done, decline to log off or restart the computer

==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
*2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
*3. Perform action with all infections

  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: When Ewido is running, don't open any other Windows

Open Spybot 1.4
Click the Search & Destroy button on the left
Check for Problems---When the Scan is complete
FIX all selected promblems in RED

Restart back to Normal mode

Back in Windows
I need to see a few logs

1. Post a fresh Hijackthis log
2. Post The entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder
3. Post the report from Ewido's

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Follow the instructions posted http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php/topic/22942-please-read-how-to-post-logs-from-frst/\'>Click Here

P2Pnetworking.exe HELP!!!
« Reply #5 on: December 05, 2005, 11:16:01 PM »
Again, can you do the following

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [p2pnetworking] p2pnetworking.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [services32] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-110-12-0000137.exe

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer

Back in Windows
Find and delete these folders if found
 C:\Program Files\Common Files\InetGet <-folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\mmur <-folder

Post a fresh hijackthis log and let me know how everythings running

Can you let me know what other files you see in the following folder also
 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Download <-this folder

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

P2Pnetworking.exe HELP!!!
« Reply #6 on: December 06, 2005, 12:01:04 PM »
Thanks for your help! It is running a bit better but for whatever reason, still slow. When I open My Computer, the flashlight comes up for about 1 minute before it displays anything. It has never done that before. I deleted the two files and there are no files in the download folder.

P2Pnetworking.exe HELP!!!
« Reply #9 on: December 11, 2005, 12:11:17 PM »
Can you find these files and delete them please

Personal Folders\Inbox\Info_prices.zip[5.exe]
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tsuninst.exe

The first file is probably part of your email, look in your mails Inbox
It will have probably been sent as an attachment
Don't open it but remove it

When was the last time a Disk Defragment was done on the computer?

Additionally, these next entries are not needed on startup
You may choose to have hijackthis fix them

Tick the following after doing a scan only
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

Click FIX CHECKED with all other windows closed, including this one

Reboot the computer

If you haven't Defragged for awhile, now would be a good time
When it's done reboot the computer again

Come back here, running better?

P2Pnetworking.exe HELP!!!
« Reply #10 on: December 13, 2005, 06:56:49 PM »
PC is running better but noticed something today that was not there before. In Outlook, I have 3 e-mails setup. When I go to chose profile, the 3 e-mails are listed along with "PSTLOADTMP000" There are 14 consecutive entries. Not sure what this is from and didn't want to attempt to delete before running it by you. Thanks again or all your help!

Yeah, did it this morning. Seems to be working ok. Just not sure why they showed up.... Thanks again for your help, everything else seems to be working good. I still get the "flashlight" when I open My Computer though....
