I checked out your last posts previous
Why dont' you have an AV installed???
I supplied links to free ones earlier

Can you do the following please
Don't install an AV yet

But I want to check on something
==Download SmitRem.exe by Noahdfear and save the file to your desktop.
Don't run it yet

Please print the next set of instructions or save them too a notepad file on your desktop for reference

==Double click on SmitRem.exe to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.
Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

Reboot back to Normal mode

==Post the following back please
1. A fresh hijackthis log
2. Post the Whole log made from SmitRem located here C:\Smitfiles.txt

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Follow the instructions posted http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php/topic/22942-please-read-how-to-post-logs-from-frst/\'>Click Here

Oh ya, sorry, yes I did  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
Thanks, for catching that, but unfortunately it didn't come back with the results I was hoping for
I was wondering if wininet.dll was infected, but it's ok

You need to get an active Anti-Virus on your computer
If you don't have your own to install
Can you do the following please

EDIT>>We do need to get Anti-Virus software on your computer, but if you haven't ran one yet
Can you first do the instructions from my post a couple down please

===============================================

<Hold off on doing this please>
Download and install either of the free versions of
AVG 7 by Grisoft
OR
Avast Home Edition by ALWIL

ONLY install one AV please, more than one will cause a conflict

After your new Anti-Virus software is installed, make sure it is updated and run a complete System scan
Let it fix whatever it finds, reboot your computer afterwards
================================================
How is everything then?

Not sure why this works... but it seems it's a problem many people are having recently....

Now please copy the following text in the code box to Notepad. Make sure there is no empty line above REGEDIT4. In Notepad go to File > Save As. Name it Fix.reg, in the drop down box at the bottom choose "All Files", and save it on your desktop. Then double click on Fix.reg and let it merge with the registry..

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RPCKDM]

Thank you much for the info Midgetsaur
I would still like the user to run Anti-Virus software on the computer<<<EDIT(If it's not too late, Could you run this later please)

But I think your onto something Midgetsaur

Actually Dylan, if you wouldn't mind running the AV later and then reboot the computer
Then do the following
Download:  Registry Search Tool from this link, it's a very small download
http://billsway.com/vbspage/

Unzip and double-click "RegSrch.vbs"
Note: if your Antivirus or another program prompts about running a ".vbs" file, allow the script to run

In the open field copy and paste the below in bold then hit OK

RPCKDM

Wait for the results and post them back here

Could you also do the following, make sure we see the whole key
Go to  Start > Run > in the Open field, copy and paste the bold command below
and then hit OK

regedit.exe /e C:\RPCKDM.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RPCKDM"

Now navigate to C:\RPCKDM.txt <-this file that should be created if that entry exists
Post the contents of that text file please

EDIT>> I've changed my instructions a bit if you haven't  already started and your willing to help
Could you not run the AV first, but we will make sure we do later
But follow the instructions I posted in regards to running RegSrch.vbs and the Run command to produce
C:\RPCKDM.txt
I would like to see those before running the Anti-Virus software
If you appear to have the above problem
Could you do me a favor please, do you remember what kind of popup you had before this trouble started
I would like to pass the info on if you can recall when it was

The information midgetsaur provided was useful.  It made iexplore.exe work again.  But if you think there are more problems you can keep going guestolo.

Did you do what midgetsaur suggested after you ran that Run command or before?

If it all works again I will assume after you ran that Run command

Sorry for the delay Dylan, thanks for the info
Can you please install that new Anti-Virus software and run a scan please
Decide which of the two you would like
Remember, only install one
Run a complete system scan after installed and updated

Come back here and let me know how everythings running afterwards
