Slipstreaming IE & DirectX

Has anybody run across anything related to slipstreaming W2K with MSIE 6.0 and/or DirectX 8.1a?  Thanks

Everything is possible I suppose ,but I\'m sure it\'s much easier to install afterwards , if you have the installation programs on a cdrom or on your harddisk . The quickest way is to make a drive or partition image of the drive or partition with your os , then you hav your dx8.1 and IE6.0 allready installed and all your drivers and applications too .
The only way I see an advantage in slipstreaming is ,when you have a lot of differnt pcs , but everybody is entitled to his opinion

Sure, that would work.  But that\'s the easy way out http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />.  I\'ve slipstreamed service packs and hotfixes into W2K before and I\'m sure MSIE and DirectX are similar, but it\'s not working.  There\'s got to be a way, I just need to find the person that figured it out, or at least got further than me.  Thanks for the suggestion though...

I made a slipstream w2k service pack 2 too and a bootable cd , but to be honest , I allways use Norton Ghost .

this conversation seems to repeat, but as yet nobody has found a working solution other that nortion ghost or install after
. I would to know if anyone has worked a way to do this.  Also doing theis to and 9x would be kool but i think that would be as unlikely to be workable.

I don\'t mind people looking for solutions to problems , and I also remember reading about slipstreaming directx  allready in a forum .
So what , nobody is perfect , and nobody is supposed to have seen all the forums overhere .
Solving those problems is cool , and can probably be done , but if you don\'t resolve a problem like this by yourself , I find you cannot have the satisfaction of resolving it

All i was trying to say is ms has made it hard to do, anyone doing this will be doing well because the way the os\'s are packed

You are right with this , The only thing I have learned about ms is this , once you know an os throroughly , they bring a new on on the market and you have to start over again .
So I do it the easy way now .Before I would search for days to resolve a problem  now I  simply replace my system by the image of 5 -7 days before , after saving my mail  folders .Yesterday I  missed two of my three cds after setting up sb3.0 . I first tried to roll back drivers,uninstall sb30 , then system restore , but they were still missing  . Then finally I had to put back my image and my cds were back , and I use the energy to find out  why my cds were gone for something else .Lol

I\'ve managed to slipstream IE55sp2 in to a Win2K cd, using the unattended batch option (something like ie5setup /Q /R:N - which is quiet setup with reboot supresses) in a cmdlines.txt file.

I\'m sure you should be able to do the same for IE6 - look on technet for \"IE6 & quiet\"

Perhaps direct x8.1 can be slipped in the same way with a command line .
