The latest Hijack This log

Please help. I have been trying to get rid of this thing and am out of my depth. I am in the middle of my master's project, so I desperately need my computer. Now I have two computers with the same problem-I have only had my laptop since Christmas! I have AVG Free installed, but it refuses to let me download the updates. I also have Spybot and AdAware. They find the problem and delete it, but it comes back as soon as I reboot the computer. Our computer geek at the school told me about Hijack this. I hope that you can help me.

Hi Mamba, can you do the following please

When I ask you too download a zip file, make sure you choose SAVE TO DISK rather than Open
Can you open "MyComputer"
Double click to open Local Disk C: drive
Right click an empty spot  and left click NEW>>Folder
A new folder will be placed in the C: folder , name it BFU
So you now have C:\BFU

Download and save p2pnetwork.zip
Then UNZIP it to the BFU Folder
So you now have p2pnetwork.bfu extracted to the BFU folder

Download and save and then UNZIP to the BFU folder
BFU.zip
So you now have BFU.exe extracted

==Download and Install
Windows Cleanup! 4.0
Don't run it yet

==Download and then Install
Ewido anti-malware 3.5

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link after you have Ewido installed
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Please  save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop for reference
or Print them out!

RESTART your Computer into SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Choose Safe mode from the startup menu and hit Enter

Once in safe mode
Open the BFU folder
Double click to run BFU.exe
Use the "Open Script file" button (the folder icon next to Scriptfile to execute)
Navigate to p2pnetwork.bfu in the BFU folder
Right click p2pnetwork.bfu and choose Select
In Brute Force Uninstaller select Execute
Let it finish then Exit

==Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

    * Empty Recycle Bins
    * Delete Cookies
    * Delete Prefetch files
    * Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
When it's done, decline to log off or restart the computer

==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
  *2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
  *3. Perform action with all infections
 
  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: When Ewido is running, don't open any other Windows

RESTART your computer  back to Normal mode

Back in Windows
Can I see the following

1. Post the report you saved earlier with Ewidos
2. Redownload Hijackthis from from my signature below, save it too a permanent folder on your harddrive
<It's best to make a folder for Hijackthis>
Post a fresh hijackthis log afterwards

Thank you for your advice. I did something wrong, as I could not get a log file from Ewido. I did ron Hijack this!, so I posted the log below. Now what do I do? Can I really hope that it is clean?

Why didn't you save the log from Ewido's?
If you followed my instructions and printed out what I posted, or saved them to notepad for reference
You would of found that saving a log was very easy, I'm confused?????

Can you access your Add/Remove programs via control panel
Remove
Spyware Cleaner if found

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MsMovies] C:\Program Files\MsMovies\MsMovies.exe /auto

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Cleaner] "C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SpywareCleaner.Exe" /boot


After you have ticked the above entry, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer

Back in Windows
Post back a fresh Hijackthis log and let me know how everythings running please

Thank you so much for your help. I couldn't save the log from Ewido's because I exited out of it and when I ran the program again, I didn't do something right, because it didn't find anything. There wasn't anything wrong with your directions-just my attention span. I looked at the add/remove programs menu and couldn't find spyware cleaner. I did remove the two files that you suggested using Hijack this. I can get into task manager, which is great. I couldn't when I tried before your advice.
I have rebooted the computer and ran the log, so this is the latest one. I hope that we have everything.

Log Looks good

If everything is running better
We should clear all your restore points to ensure you don't restore any nasties that may be residing in the
restore folders
Go to START>>RUN>>In the open field
type in msconfig
Click the "Launch System Restore" button
On the Left hand side click on "System Restore Settings"
Put a Check in "Turn off System Restore"

Apply it and OK out of there>>Reboot your computer

Back in Windows, Go back and take the check out of Turn off system restore
This will reenable the System Restore feature and creates a new restore point

For added protections
You should install this free tool
SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 by JavaCool
*Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer
After installation, Check for updates and then click the "Enable all protection"

Check for updates every couple of weeks
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"

Open Spybot 1.4
Click the "Immunize" button on the left>>>OK at the prompt>>Immunzine at the top green cross
Do the above after every update

I would opt to hold onto Ewido, check for updates once a month and run a scan

You appear to be up to date with Windows updates
Just a reminder
Make sure to keep up up on all "High Priority" updates
That's important in keeping your system secure
If your not set to Autoupdate, make a habit or regularly checking for updates
a couple times a month

And careful with whatever you download with a filesharing program
That is how you got the bad guy that disabled your taskmanager, registry, command prompt,etc...
Scan them first with your AV by right clicking on them and select scan with AVG from the menu

EDIT>>I forgot to ask, can you now get updates with AVG?
If not, can you open Hijackthis>>>Open Misc tools section>>Open "Hosts file manager"
Click the "Open in Notepad" button
A text file will open, copy and paste everything in it back here
