p2esocks_1046.dll error
« on: January 20, 2006, 11:40:31 PM »
I'm pretty sure I have a virus. I keep getting this p2esocks_1046.dll error each time I log on to my computer. I've tried to use my McAfee Virus Scan and AdAware, but each keep hanging after awhile and stop responding. My computer definitely seems slower than usual. Here's my HiJack this:

Can you do the following please
Save Silent Runners.vbs to your desktop and double click on it to run.
If prompted by your AV, please let this script run, we are just collecting information

 This will create a text file on your desktop
Open the text file and copy and paste the contents back here

NOTE: let silentrunners completely finish, it should prompt when it is done

« Reply #3 on: January 21, 2006, 02:52:23 PM »
Can you do the following please

When I ask you too download a zip file, make sure you choose SAVE TO DISK rather than Open
Can you open "MyComputer"
Double click to open Local Disk C: drive
Right click an empty spot  and left click NEW>>Folder
A new folder will be placed in the C: folder , name it BFU
So you now have C:\BFU

==Download and save and then UNZIP to the BFU folder
BFU.zip
So you now have BFU.exe extracted

==RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download EGDACCESS Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier
C:\BFU folder

Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
IMPORTANT>>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as fix.reg

Save this file on the desktop, well need this later, don't run it yet
Ensure to save REGEDIT4 and below in the code box

Code: [Select]
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui"=-

==Download and Install
Windows Cleanup! 4.0
Don't run it yet

==Open Ewido anti-malware 3.5
When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido for now, we'll need it later
If for some reason the Updater won't work can you manually download the
Updates from this link
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Please  save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop for reference
or Print them out!

RESTART your Computer into SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads
Choose Safe mode from the startup menu and hit Enter

==Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

    * Empty Recycle Bins
    * Delete Cookies
    * Delete Prefetch files
    * Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
When it's done, decline to log off or restart the computer

==Open the BFU folder
Double click to run BFU.exe
Use the "Open Script file" button (the folder icon next to Scriptfile to execute)
Navigate to EGDACCESS.bfu in the BFU folder
Right click EGDACCESS.bfu and choose Select
In Brute Force Uninstaller select Execute
Let it finish then Exit

==Double click on fix.reg and allow to add/merge to the registry

==Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on the Scanner button on the left menu
Select Complete System Scan
*If Ewido finds something it will prompt you with "Infected Object found"
Ensure the following are Selected
  *1. Perform Action = Remove
  *2. Create Encrypted Backup in Quarantine (Recommended)
  *3. Perform action with all infections

  Then click OK
When Ewido has finished it's scan click the "Save Report" button
Save the report to desktop
Exit Ewido
NOTE: When Ewido is running, don't open any other Windows

Stay in safe mode
Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:
Not all may exist, but tick what you see from below

p2esocks_1046.dll error
« Reply #4 on: January 22, 2006, 03:21:48 AM »
Hi,
I downloaded the programs and made the BFU file, but don't have time tonight to restart the computer in SAFE mode and follow those instructions.

I was a little confused about the following directions though:

CODEREGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui"=-

So, I saved the EGDACCESS program to the BFU folder, opened Notepad and copied the CODEREGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui" to the Notepad, and saved that as fix.reg.

Was that correct?

Thanks for your help! Wow, this is a lot of info!!

I'll continue tomorrow and send the report to you.

C:\BFU folder
If you open the C:\BFU folder, and you now have EGDACCESS.bfu
in the folder, together with BFU.exe, you did that part right

Quote
Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
IMPORTANT>>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as fix.reg

Ensure to save REGEDIT4 and below in the code box
CODEREGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui"=-

This part I think we may have to fix
You saved it as all files and named it fix.reg
That's good, it should look like a cubes type icon on the desktop
But I mentioned this
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
To fix this part to not include Code
Can you right click on fix.reg and select EDIT from the menu bar
remove the word Code please
Ensure you have REGEDIT4 left and at the top of the text file with no spaces above it
So it looks like this in bold below

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui"=-

Then carry on with the instructions I posted  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

If your unsure if you did the last part properly
Can you save from below fix2.zip and unzip the contents to desktop so you now have fix2.reg extracted
That way we're sure you have it done properly
You can compare the way I did it to what you have done
You can use fix2.reg in place of fix.reg, we can delete both of these later when we're done

Once again, I thought I'd replied to your message, but must have been kicked out somehow, so if you get this reply twice, sorry...

I went into REGEDIT4 in the notepad, but there was no "CODE" to delete. This is exactly what's in the notepad:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"jzlkasui"=-

And it does show up as an icon with blue-ish cubes....

p2esocks_1046.dll error
« Reply #8 on: January 22, 2006, 10:48:39 PM »
The ewido report is short because I ran it 3 times. the first 2 I couldn't find hijack this or reg.fix
in SAFE mode, so I had to reboot to save them into my C: drive. This is the latest report. I couldn't find the original one, since it's on my desktop in SAFE mode.

p2esocks_1046.dll error
« Reply #9 on: January 22, 2006, 11:01:25 PM »
Did you log into safe mode in the same account your in right now?
This is probably the reason you couldn't find fix.reg and hijackthis

Actually, I'm curious about this from the very first log you posted
Code: [Select]
C:\BFU\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe
That is where you were running Hijackthis from
You had already created a BFU folder
Are you getting help elsewhere

I stop right here until I find that out, it's not fair receiving help elsewhere, to myself or another helper
I want to try the fix again, but an alternative to it, without interference

« Reply #10 on: January 23, 2006, 12:37:57 AM »
No,
I was looking at someone else's thread that seemed to have a similar problem, and tried to replicate what they were told to do. I ran hijack this, bfu, clean-up, and ewido...but that's as far as I got. So, I figured I'd have to find out what my particular problem is.

Sorry for the confusion!

I'm running the safe mode from the same profile, but my name doesn't come up...so I log on to the administrator profile since that's mine too.

« Reply #13 on: January 23, 2006, 06:30:25 PM »
Delete fix.reg on your desktop
Open Notepad
Copy the below in the code box to notepad
Make sure "Save as Type" says "All files (*.*)"
Name it fix.reg
Save it on the desktop, don't run it yet
Code: [Select]
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ntgmjpkr"=-

Can you do the following, I want to make sure this is done right
I am going to assume that you have Bfu.exe in the C:\BFU folder
Please leave it there
Delete EGDACCESS.bfu inside the BFU folder
I want you too redo this step to ensure we have the latest fix

Instructions a little bit different, but almost the same

Do this all in normal mode, as I don't want you too keep rebooting until we are done

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download EGDACCESS Remover. Save it in the folder you made earlier (c:\BFU)

Copy the text below in the quote box to notepad and save it to the desktop as findEGDA.vbs
Make sure "Save as Type" says "All files (*.*)"
Quote
Dim Wshshell, fso ,ts , R, ArrR ,i
Const ForReading = 1

Set Wshshell = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
Set fso = Wscript.CreateObject("Scripting.FilesystemObject")

Wshshell.run "regedit /a /e runnow.txt HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"

Do until fso.FileExists("runnow.txt")
Wscript.sleep 100
Loop
Set ts = fso.OpenTextFile("runnow.txt" ,ForReading)
Do while not ts.AtEndOfStream
R = ts.Readall
loop
ts.close

R = Replace(R, "\\", "\")
R = Replace(R, Chr(34), "")

ArrR = Split(R,vbcrlf)
For i = 0 to Ubound(ArrR)
  F =  Lcase(right(ArrR(i),6))
    If F = "-start" Then
      ArrR(i) = Replace(arrR(i), "-start" , "-uninstall")
      ArrR(i) = Mid(ArrR(i),Instr(ArrR(i),"=") + 1)
     MsgBox ArrR(i)
     Wshshell.Run ArrR(i)
  End IF
Next

Set ts = nothing
Set fso = nothing
set wshshell = nothing

Go to the desktop and double-click on EGDA.vbs to run it. If you have a resident script blocker it may warn you about or stop the vbs script. Please allow it, it is harmless.
You will get a prompt looking like this
c:\windows\system32\random.exe -uninstall
Click OK to execute that command.
You will be prompted if you are sure you want to uninstall. Confirm.

After a little while you will get a prompt the application was removed.

If the above step does not go as follows and appears that nothing happened
 please carry on with the below instructions regardless

Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe

In the scriptline to execute copy and paste the following line below, between the dotted lines
=============================
 c:\bfu\EGDACCESS.bfu
=============================
Press execute and let it do it’s job.

Wait for the complete script execution box to popup and press OK.
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

Double click on fix.reg and allow to add/merge to the registry

Reboot the computer
Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log and silent runners log

« Reply #15 on: January 23, 2006, 10:31:11 PM »
Can you do the following please
Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>Open Uninstall manager
Click the save list button
Save the list too your desktop and then copy and paste the whole contents back here please

In addition
Copy the text below in the quote box to notepad and save it to the "desktop" as find.bat
Make sure "Save as Type" says "All files (*.*)"

Quote
dir %Systemdrive%\bfu /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt
Double click on find.bat, a text file will open, copy and paste the contents back here please

Also:
Download F-Secure's BlackLight from HERE and save it to your Desktop.
Locate and double click blbeta.exe to run it - you will need to accept the license agreement.

Click the Scan button to start and then Next when it has finished scanning.(this scan won't take too long)
A text file, fsbl-date/time, will be saved to your Desktop, copy and paste this into your next post.

This is what I want to see:
1.  Uninstall list from Hijackthis
2. The output of find.bat
3. The results of Blacklight

p2esocks_1046.dll error
« Reply #17 on: January 23, 2006, 11:36:15 PM »
Can you do the following please

Go into the C:\BFU folder
EXTRACT BFU.zip
so you now have Bfu.exe unzipped to the BFU folder
Don't run it in from the zip file

Access your add/remove programs via control panel
Remove the following if you can
blpxrmsc
irbqyflakd
jzlkasui
ntgmjpkr

Finally remove this one
MailSkinner

DON'T reboot yet, just let me know if they will remove

EDIT>>>Why do you leave so quick all the time?  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':blink:\' />
We're never going to get this fixed if you keep leaving

=====================================================================

I'll keep posting further instructions,  as I don't think I'll see a response tonight
Can you try this after you have removed those entries from add/remove programs, if they will remove
Ensure you uninstall "mailskinner"

Open blbeta.exe (blacklight) again.
Click Scan>>>Next

When it's done
It will show you these next entries:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sprqivahd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msclock32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sprqivahd.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sprqivahd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sprqivahd_nav.dat
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sprqivahd_navps.dat

Now select each entry and click the 'rename' button.
Do this for all of them.
Blacklight adds the rename to those entries.
Click next and it will tell you that those files will get renamed and if you are sure. Click
Yes>>OK
Then it will ask you to reboot.
Click yes.
Your system must reboot now.

Back in Windows
Ensure you extracted Bfu.exe
Again, DON'T run it from with Bfu.zip

Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe

In the scriptline to execute copy and paste the following line below, between the dotted lines
=============================
 c:\bfu\EGDACCESS.bfu
=============================
Press execute and let it do it’s job.

Wait for the complete script execution box to popup and press OK.
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
Reboot the computer again

Back in Windows post a fresh hijackthis log

I've removed them all. Actually, I've been here and just checked for your response about 2 minutes before you did. I'm also taking care of dinner and bedtime at the same time, so sorry I wasn't here to respond right away. I hope you get this tonight. Thanx! http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

There were only five files on your list that showed up. The only one that didn't was:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sprqivahd.exe

Do you want me to continue with renaming them?
