DVD Drive Problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my DVD drive. It just won\'t read my cd\'s.
just whatever cds i put in, it won\'t read and stays like that for a long time until i have to force it to stop reading. does anybody know what\'s the problem with this one?

Have you tried cleaning it with a lens cleaning kit. I had that problem about a year ago with just a CD-Rom drive, spent 15 bucks on a kit, fixed, no problems since.

yeah...i did try finally to clean my dvd drive with dvd-cleaner..but it still didn\'t seem to be the problem...i don\'t know...so weird...just won\'t be able to read \"any\" cds.....it\'s just weird...

If you are using XP or 2000, have you tried removing the device driver for the DVD-ROM under Device Manager and then rebooting and then reloading the device driver on reboot?
