It\'s obvious that MSNM 4.5 was not the cause of your problem because even after you\'ve uninstalled it the problem still persists.  Are you on dial-up, broadband?  Are you using AOL 7.0? More information on your setup would be nice!!!!
if at first you dont succeed, call it version 1.0

Well this has never ever ever happened to me before

have not installed or uninstalled anything else for weeks.

I have DSL and whenever I\'m logged on to AOL and I try to use Internet Explorer it tells me that I\'m offline.  I have to click \"Try Again\" for Internet Explorer to work.

Do  you have AOL 7.0?

I am connected to the internet when I start my computer  .
My windows messenger is never started when windows starts (options windows mess.4.5 0127 )It starts with outlook express . If you have to connect to the internet (if you are not connected automatically on starting up) you have to set the proxy settings of winmsg right . proxy...... :socks 1080 . If this doesn\' help ,check if nothing is changed with your IE6.0 connection settings .Try eventually repair browser in the controll panel  \"add remove programs\".
Good luck

The only thing I learned (after years)from installing programs , getting incomprehensible errors , being unable to uninstall the program , blue screens is to make a back up image of my drive , or partition on a second drive or partition weekly , and simply put it back the image when I get those annoying problems , and everything is back to normal .
