Monitor problems
« on: March 06, 2006, 10:00:52 AM »
Whenever I turn on my computer, everything starts up but the monitor. The only thing that happens is my desktop flashes for about a second and the screen turns blank again. I turn the monitor on and off about 30-50 times before it finally stays on. I currently have a Nvidia geforce 6600gt if that helps at all. Thanks in advance for the help.

If there is no picture at all:

First unplug and then re-plug in the power cord (from the back of the monitor AND from the wall) and also unplug/re-plug the cord that goes from the monitor to the computer.
Make sure the connections are solid. Turn/push all the buttons or knobs to see if any picture can be seen.
If this monitor is an older model it might be time to get a new one.Since my monitor stays on 24/7 I had to replace my monitor
a couple times already.

You could also try to goto control panel >>Display>>settings>>advanced>>monitor>>properties>>(make sure device is enabled)>>driver>>update driver
