Windows xp activation
« on: March 15, 2006, 03:14:25 AM »
hi,
i have installed windows xp home sp1 edition in my system from a borrowed cd.
as i dont have the activation key for the product, i got a crack from some website and
installed it. now, my pc is showing some warning even before windows is completely started,
but no message is displayed on the window. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
can anyone help me out how to activate the product?
please dont tell me to buy the software. it is not that cheaply available here. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />

 thank you....

What you did is why Microsoft created the activation feature.
They don't want users "borrowing" other users software.
Microsoft wants you to buy your own.
It sucks, but that's the way it is.
My suggestion is to try a different "crack" or download one of the many "corporate" versions of XP available and re-install.

Good luck!
