Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

After you have ticked the above entry, close All other open windows
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer afterwards

I see McAfee's and Symantec's on your computer
I'm not sure what parts of each program you are running
But keep in mind, it's never a good idea to run more than one active AV in the background
This goes for Firewall protection also
Having more than one of each can cause a decrease in system performance and conflict with each other

Let me know how things are running later
When was the last time you did a Disk Defragment on this computer?

Yeah, I just had to delete one of the virus protections because I had two running together and they weren't agreeing. It's running a lot better now. I don't think I've ever done a Disk Defragement.

You can also reduce the number of items on ur startup list, use this as a guide and uncheck whtever isnt needed, this will definitely improve speed.

It would be a good time to run the disk cleanup and the defragment the drive, it may take long if u've never done it, but its sure to speed things up, esp if the drive was fragged.
