Win2k Sp2 crashes all the time!

Help!
I am using a P-III-1000 (ECS motherboard w/ integrated sound), 256 meg ram, Fujitsu 40 Gig, AOpen 56k Software modem, nV TNT2-32meg and I\'m running on a Win2000 platform with Service Pack 2 installed.  It crashes all the f@$#^! time!
I tried re-installing Win2K on the 22nd of December, and the same thing happens!  The screen goes blank, and the PC restarts itself!  I\'ve counted at least 20 crashes since the 22nd.
Is there something wrong with my drivers?  Before, when I tried to install the newest nVidia drivers onto Win98 (not 2k), it crashed all the time too, so I just replaced that with the nVidia driver that came with Windows.  The only non-Windows proprietary drivers I\'ve installed are my soundcard and modemcard.
       Please help!

At what point does it crash?  The first thing I would do is take out all of the unnecessary hardware (or unplug).  For instance, remove the modem, disable the sound card in the BIOS, unplug all of the IDE devices except for the primary hard drive. Basically boot-up with just the processor, memory, video card, and C drive!  I would also load the fail safe option in the BIOS and if it does not have that option you want to disable all of the video shadowing, diable the com ports, infrared, anything you dont need to boot to OS.  Have you tried safemode??  Well I guess that is enough for now.  Let me know how it goes.  GOOD LUCK!!
