stopping win vista startup routine
« on: May 19, 2006, 09:41:53 PM »
i recently installed a beta of win vista, and having tried it decided to get rid of it. so i formatted the partition it was on and merged the part with the rest of my hdd. however, i still get the start-up screen that asks me to either choose an 'earlier version of windows' (the winxp that i use now) or microsoft windows (vista). i have already tried going into the control panel and deleting the reference to win vista in boot.ini file. i have also deselected the time to display operating systems check box. does anyone know another way to boot straight into xp like i used to? thanks.
