I know you have your video drivers updated, but ensure you check for updates to your sound drivers too

Don't you?
Is it onboard sound or an addin card?

Dont remember the comp is like 3 year old. I think its an inboard not sure tho....From dxdiag it writes Device: SoundMax digital audio; Driver : Name smwdm.sys

With the belarc program i didnt found the system model ..Maybe i can just post it if it would help of the belarc report? Becous i dont understine much ....
