Is it possible to install the operating system that is on the recovery cd for one computer on to a different computer?  Any explanation would be really appreciated.  Thank you.

I believ that it is locked to your PC bios, as long as your other box is the same Model with the same bios, you shouldn\'t have any problems, but I know, for most people do not have 2 of the same models with the same bios. I have heard that there are ways of getting around this but I do not posess the knowledge of actually doing it.

most likely the cd is bios locked, but.............
I updated the bios on my puter, viola , the cd wouldnt work anymore, i called the manufacturer of my computer. The sent me a file which updated the bios strings so the cd would once work again. Just call up your pc maker and tell them you updated your bios and now the disc wont work, they should be able to help you out.
