Mouse Problem

Hi......My mouse seems to have a mind of its own these days....When I go to Control Panel, Mouse, it tells me that it is working properly....But my mouse doesn't move where I want it to go sometimes.....Other times, it finds its way to the taskbar & I get a drop down box.....It's as if I did a right click on my taskbar or system tray......The only way to get rid of the drop down box is clicking on Properties, then Cancel.....Sometimes, when my mouse acts up, it disappears off the screen from one spot, and appears clean across the screen in another spot too.......What should I do ?

If its a ball mouse. U ever try cleaning it?

If it a laser mouse. Maybe ur laser is ready to die.

And if its wireless. maybe u got change the batteries in it

All possibilities... Ever try using another mouse??

ok, it's not a ball mouse.....it's not a laser mouse.....it's a Logitech mouse with a wheel and the bottom lights up red...i've tried changing the mouse too.....same prob.....had this with the old mouse & a new mouse too

Ok then it's most liekly not the mouses. It most likely the little prong things where u plug in the mouse.

on the end of the mouse does it have the rectangle piece (USB) or the circular piece.

Only thing i could tell u to do is, look in the back of the computer. And look at the circular reciever pieces for the mouse and seee if any r bent or dirty. They could be just bent or dirty.

If the problem is still persisting then i would recommend u buying a USB type mouse or a circular to USB adapter.
This is an adaptor where u hook up ur mouses circular piece to a USB plug and then plug it in. You may only be able to find these at ur local computer store. Only other place i think they may carry them is Staples.
