my cousin got on my computer and...

Programs keep freezing there was recently a virus. I believei  have removed it, and all the spyware that came along with it, but programs r freezing and such. I have done scans with spybot and adaware and removed all the bad stuff, also ran ewildo and panda activescan.

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer

Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log

Are you still trying to figure out how to do a Clean Install?
You want to format the disk, when asked to Delete partition>>Do it
Then format full NTFS>>Don't select Quick

Yes it will, but you will delete partition
REFORMAT>>Use the full format NTFS not the quick

Follow the prompts to clean install the OS
I gave you link earlier, I don't think you deleted and formatted the Drive
That is the best way to start all over
And seeing that you again have no Windows updates, time to start of fresh

You have had way to many problems now and before to continue this way

Remember, after a clean install, get the latest drivers for your hardware
Get SP2

Is this the same OS you repair installed a week ago?

yes it is, but i had a disk on hand. i just reused my product key. But the disk wasn't mine. a friend had lent it to me to use ofr the reinstalling, then he took it back.

well techniqually i do have a CD.. But its not a bootable one. I copied the content from his CD and burnt them to a blank one. I possibly could make it bootable. I have another blank CD.

I see where your problems may be stemming
Get your hands on a legal copy of XP
I'm not continuing from this point on, especially when you can't protect this computer without the proper security updates from Windows
This includes Service pack 2

This is an ongoing mess, I've mentioned this before

i can download and install SP2. I do have a legal copy. Its just i dont have a CD, i bought the computer with xp pre-installed.

I know how to install XP on any others machine with an illegitimate copy of XP and let them assume it's legal
But I just won't do it?
Why don't you have your own copy of the CD?

You need to purchase your own copy, I'm sorry, but maybe the one that installed your copy of XP should help you out

Remember, some of these so-called legit installers of XP can be reported and fined!!!!
