internet sharing

I need a little help setting this up...have 2 computers, main is xp, second is win2k, and want to internet connection share. Have 2 identical network cards in xp, pcmcia in win2k comp. What are the settings, i.e. ip, dns for all the network cards. I\'ve tried with 192.168.0.1 on xp, 192.168.0.2 on win2k, and both numbers on the second network card in xp comp.no go. Internet connection sharing is enabled on xp.what am I missing. This is dsl connection through t-online in Germany.

choose a machine to be the \"host\"
that machine should have 192.168.0.1

the other machine \"client\" should be set so that it automatically sets itself an IP address

Have a look and you will be a professional ICS in no time.
They dont say it, but there are 2 ways to setup ICS.

1) On the internet enabled machine (XP box for you), set your ip to 192.168.0.1 and install netbeui protocol.
On lame box, use dhcp and all should be fine.

2) On the internet enabled machine (XP box for you), set your ip to 192.168.0.1
On lame box, use static ip (eg 192.168.0.2). Set default gateway as 192.168.0.1 and set DNS server as the one provided by your ISP.

I prefer the second method, but thats just me. Using the second method, you can share to non-Windows computers, eg Linux.
