WIN2000, files and PGP ???
« on: February 05, 2002, 12:14:10 PM »
Dear All,

I have some questions about Win2000 Server Pro.

When I got it, I found it requires around 900 Mb to install, then I updated to SP1, SP2, got the CD from Microsoft of the Rollup update. I use it on 3 computers at once, and I definitely need the \'old\' 95 for some purposes.

How to make Partition Magic to work, or Boot Magic. These did not mention they refuse the Server edition.

I have same problem with Speed Disk, that refuse it as incompatible with the Server Terminal Edition, which I do not have !!!

Another issue, related to Speed Disk and Partition Magic is is it safe to use PGP to wipe files under Win2000 ? I guess they all work by moving clusters, so maybe they are based on the same grounds ?

Sorry to disturb you with these questions

Gerard

[/indent] Wiping files with PGP 7.0.3 works very fine on my system (W2K Pro; no damages, no crashes whatsoever).

Ok, i c you have been asking about W2K TSE at first; i have never had any contact with W2K TSE, but i guess unless you use stripe sets (which can be problematic with PGP wiping) it will work for W2K Pro as well as W2K TSE.

(Plz don\'t rely completely on my post, since i\'m only using W2K Pro; better wait here for some more info or gather it elsewhere, since therez always the possibility of things going wrong)
