SideBySide I think
« on: August 01, 2006, 04:35:23 PM »
I was reading about this problem on some of the other posts but I don't think the instructions apply to every infection, unless all these pop ups are not being caused by SideBySide (like I thought).  Anyways here is my HiJack log.

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>Open "Delete File On Reboot"
In the file name field, copy>>Paste the whole next line in bold below

C:\Program Files\Common Files\{E0385FB8-07DE-1033-1108-050406060001}\Update.exe

Then click the OPEN button, Hijackthis should prompt that the file will be delete on reboot
ALLOW to restart your computer

Back in Windows

I have never used Malware Sweeper, I don't have a clue if it's any good or not
If it was the free version, you might want to uninstall it
If you decide to hold onto it, can you please disable it's realtime protections please and then shut down the program

Also, disable SpySweeper realtime protections and exit out of it

I don't want any of the above 2 interfering with the next fix
After that is done

Download this file - Combofix.exe and save it too desktop
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
along with a fresh hijackthis log
