WFW and TCP/IP
« on: February 18, 2002, 10:02:06 AM »
I\'m trying to get an old WFW computer (P133, 24MB\'s Ram, 250MB HDD) using TCP/IP-32 3.11b on to my Win98 LAN. When I run Windows Setup, I keep getting \"WINSETUP caused a General Protection Fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:5675\". This happens when it tries to copy the FA311.DOS file for my Netgear FA311 Fast Ethernet card. When I try to Ping I get \"Unable to contact IP driver, error code 0.\" I\'ve been beating myself over the head with this for almost a week now. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don\'t know, but I\'ve gotten WFW running TCP/IP fine.  Reformat and reinstall WFW, then install only your ethernet card\'s drivers.  Restart, then add TCP.  If that doesn\'t work, perhaps there is a compatibility problem with your card and WFW or other hardware.
