Hi,
I recently upgraded my laptop from Windws 98 to Windows 2000 Professional and now the modem has been stuck on COM 1. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can move it to its rightful place (i.e. COM 3)? I\'ve tried following the instructions in the Windows Help, but I don\'t have the option to change ports in my system tab. Under Windows 98 I could just install the modem 3 times and then delete the one\'s put on COMs 1 & 2, but Windows 2000 seems cleverer than that. It spots that there is already a modem on COM 1 & asks if I want to uninstall it first, if I chose no then the installation stops. This is driving me crazy so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Marc.
P.S. my modem is an ESS Data Voice Fax Modem
