Hi,
Okay, well I’ve tried everything to get my modem back on to COM 3 from COM 1 and nothing seems to work. It only gives me the option of putting it on COM1 and so I’m wondering if the other COMs are disabled. Can anyone tell me how to check and/or enable the different ports under Windows 2000 Professional? Also, could anyone explain the philosophy of “jumpers”? I’ve checked my computer manual and it’s proved strikingly unhelpful (aside from telling me that my internal modem is an ESS ES56ST-PI. ESS Technologies were also unable to help me.
Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Marc.
