Windows XP pro network issues
« on: September 11, 2006, 01:20:25 PM »
Hey there im using windows xp pro and im trying to get my network working
-all of the computers run towards a central router ( i think its just a router) and we have cable internet
-i cant see anyone else on my network but they can all see eachother
-everyone else can see me but not access my computer even though file sharing is on
-i can use the internet
-when i try to access the workgroups it says " MSHOME is not accessible you might not have permissino to use this network resourse contact the administrator to find out if you have access permissions     Network path not found"
MSHOME is the workgroup that everyone is on
-When i try to setup my computer for the network it says
" Cannot complete network setup wizard
an error occured during configuration of the network on this computer. you can configure the network manually, or you can run the wizard again with different settings"
-Under "system" there is a network ID button and i have tried both home and business use neither worked

Thats all i can think of for now
Thanks a tonne!
