I'm just going out the door on the way to work
In the meantime can you do the following please

Download this file - Combofix.exe and save it too desktop

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Can you post the log from combofix as well as a fresh hijackthis log please

If you can't get it to work
Try the alternative please

==Download and save Brute Force Uninstaller to the desktop
  • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  • Click "Next"
  • In the box to choose where to extract the files to, click "Browse"
  • Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
  • Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
  • Click "Make New Folder"
  • Type in BFU
  • Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcan worm remover.
Save it then transfer to the
same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

download ATF-Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Don't run it yet

==Download, install, and update  Ewido anti-spyware
• Load Ewido and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Close Ewido. Do not run it yet.
Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the screen that appears.

==Go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Put a check in Show log after script ends
  • Next to the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon and select alcanshorty.bfu
  • Press Execute and let it do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Click the Save button to save the log, save it in the same folder as BFU.exe
  • Ensure to name it with a .txt extension>>Such as Report.txt
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
========================================================
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
      Under Main choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser

Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser

Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

This will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. please move them to a different directory first.
====================================================

Ewido Scan
  • Then run Ewido and click on the Scanner tab at the top and then click on Complete System Scan.  This scan can take quite a while to run, so be prepared.
  • Ewido will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
  • Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As".  This will create a text file.  Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).
Reboot back to Normal windows

Try running Combofix one more time

Afterwards
Post back all the following, even if takes more than one reply to do so please

1. Post a fresh hijackthis log
2. Post the report from Ewido's
3. Post the report from Combofix if you ran it to completion

Check for updates with Ewido
Don't run a scan yet

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/056fdaa52624dd...ip/RdxIE601.cab

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot into safe mode

Run a complete scan with Ewido
DO NOT use the computer while the scan is running
After the scan is done
    * Ewido will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
    * Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).

Reboot back to Normal windows

Post a fresh hijackthis log and the full report from Ewido's please

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

ewido scan came up- to 2.8million characters. i tried to post a mere 850k characters but it kept "crashing" the forum nicely directing me to index.php LOL so i just hosted the file here..

Ewido Scan uploaded

if you still want me to post it out is no problem just lemme know.

im not sure if ewido did what it should have done as when i woke up (it had been going all evening and night) it was done, i could save the log but after i clicked apply all i saw the all actions have been applied but then ewido froze and in the end i had to close it as it was not responding.

Ad-Aware scan
Click START
Click the radio button to Perform a Full system scan then click NEXT
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://zone.msn.com/bingame/apop/default/popcaploader_v6.cab

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer

Back in Windows
The scan with Ewido shouldn't take that long, maybe 40 minutes at the most, depending on the amount of data on the drive,  can you run it in Normal Windows with the instructions I posted earlier
Apply recommended actions if possible when complete

Can you post back all the following please

1. Post a fresh hijackthis log
2. Post the report from Ewido's
3. Can you do the following

Go to either of these links
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
OR
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html

Use the browse button and navigate to the file on your harddrive

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\sptd3917.sys <-this file
Right click on the file and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning
Could you post back the results of the scan back here please
It's probably ok, but I just want to check it

and trying to scan that file on the first link gave me this

The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file

The second link had no virus for every scanner.

I just noticed you may not have any AntiVirus software on your computer
I have a link to a free one if needed

The Complete and Shared folder are probably where files are kept from your file sharing programs
If the folders are empty, you can go ahead and delete them

You more than likely got infected from something you downloaded from your filesharing programs
ENSURE you right click and scan any file you download with an updated virus scanner before you open it

Post back about the virus scanner

My pc seems to have a constant ram problem so i havent got any good live virusscanners. id like one now though ^^

-------------
-------------

Also a question that hasnt got any particular rush, but if i try to play a game, 80% of the time the whole pc slows way down, becomes unplayable and through the speakers comes this hardly hearable continuous beep. it does go off every now and then and then it runs very smooth, even online fps on high visual settings. but when that beep comes back it just slows down horribly and its always longer slow than smooth. its weird lol. this happens with most games i try to play. Any idea what could be the cause of this. this is not a problem that HAS to be solved as i already gave in to the fact that i cant play games on this laptop http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

If everything is running good
We should flush all your restore points to ensure you don't restore your computer to an infected point
and also start you off with a fresh, clean restore point

    Go to START>>RUN
    Type in
msconfig
Click OK
Click the "Launch System Restore" button
On the Left hand side click on "System Restore Settings"
Put a Check in "Turn off System Restore"
Apply it and OK out of there>>Reboot your computer
Back in Windows, Go back and take the check out of "Turn off system restore"
This will reenable the System Restore feature and creates a new restore point
No need for restart
Protect yourself against Future Attacks
*Install  SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 by JavaCool
    *Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer
After installation, Check for updates and then click the "Enable all protection"
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"

*Make sure your Anti-Virus software is always kept up to date and actively running in the background
Try this virus scanner
AVG free edition
After it's installed, ensure it is updated and run a full system scan

*Keep your Firewall protection enabled
A Firewall is also very important
This provides a line of defense against someone/thing who might try to access your computer without your permission

Update and do scan's with your Anti-Spyware programs on a regular basis
In addition to Ad-Aware, I would also install and hold onto
Spybot 1.4 from
HERE

After installation--Click the UPDATE button on the left
SEARCH FOR UPDATES on the right
Check, and then download all updates
After update is complete
Click the "Search & Destroy" button on the left
"Check for Problems"---When the Scan is complete
FIX all selected promblems in RED

RESTART the computer to finish any cleaning process
In addition>>Open Spybot 1.4
Click on Immunize>>OK>>Immunize at the top green cross
Do the above after every update

Optionally, hold onto ATF-Cleaer.exe or you can manually delete it
Also, Ewido will become a free limited version after 30 days of install
You can choose to hold onto it or uninstall from add/remove

Why the problem with RAM, what's your system specs.?
When was the last time you ran Disk Defragmenter on your drive?

Run the Disk Defragment utility afterwards
START>>Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>Disk Defragmenter

Let it run uninterrupted>>better yet, run it in safe mode
Reboot the computer after it's done
