Vista Beta
« on: October 15, 2006, 11:29:15 AM »
I am really curious to try out the Windows Vista Beta 2 on my PC, the only thing I'm worried about is that I won't be able to do all the stuff I do with my PC now.  How does it play most games? Does it run Macromedia Flash 8 Proffesional and/or Photoshop CS2? When I upgrade WIndows XP will it get rid of all my old data? Will programs I had installed still be installed?  These may be stupid questions but I really haven't found the answers to them in any reviews/previews of the new OS.

Well... That happened

I haven't tried Vista yet, but take a look at the following
Beta 2 Compatability list
I assumed you could only now get Vista RC1, I guess not??

No you can only get RC1, I was confused cuz people were reviewing RC2, anyway I got it and a lot of people have said its bad, but I actually like it.  It works fine with everything that I need it to do and thats really all I care about.  That and it looks pretty XD

I think that RC2 came out for a bit than Microsoft yanked it
If my test box was a bit more up to date I would install it too  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

The best way to test Vista is to use a different hadddrive with a clean install.basic requirements for a good test is at least a pentium 4 2.4 ghz,1 gig of memory and an 80 gig harddrive whether you are using rc1 or rc2. Vista is kinda neat takes time to get used to but untill they come out with sp1 I will stick with xp( upgrading is not the way to go )use a different harddrive and a fresh install this way if you dont like it you can always put your other harddrive back in and be ready to go.
